13 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along: 13 weeks
Size of baby: a medium shrimp
Total weight gain/loss: gained 3 lbs
Maternity Clothes: pants or shorts on occasion just for comfort
Gender: can't wait to find out!
Movement: I thought I felt some movement earlier this week
Sleep: going to bed around 9:30, I wake several times to use the rest room, and when Kylie wakes.
What I miss: Coffee!!!!!
Cravings: it varies! Sometimes it's chipotle, subway, sweets, salsa
Symptoms: I feel good just tired!!

How the baby's growing:
Fingerprints are formed, her body is starting to catch up with her head, baby is almost 3 inches long and weighs nearly and ounce.

A peek at 13 weeks:

On September 13th we had our first sonogram. She did an abdominal US (ultrasound) and couldn't find anything, so she had to do transvaginal she found our little peanut, I was soo thankful at that point in the test! Baby had a heart beat of 165!!! But with the measurements she got baby only measured at 8 weeks 4 days. So I was a little worried since I knew when my last cycle was that the baby was measuring so small. Luckily I had my second appointment yesterday!


Yesterday, September 21st I had my second OB appointment. We took Kylie with us, which I was a little nervous about but she did great! She looked a little worried when I was sitting on the table with the blood pressure cuff on and was prepped for him to listen to the heartbeat. It took him awhile to find it he said it was picking up my heartbeat and my intestines were in the way of the baby but we got it!! Afterwards we go into his office to chat! He gave Kylie a cup full of M & M's she was in heaven!!!!! I asked him about my due date changing and he said since I know when my last period was he's not changing it. He said when I go for my next appointment he will order me another sonogram. He had a jar full of M & M's on his desk and he said that the first ultrasound is a hard one for measurements, he said it's like measuring one of the M & M's in the jar but with it moving around alot he said the measurements won't be that accurate. He said after my next sonogram he will check that and see if there is still a big difference in measurements. He said that at this point it doesn't have to do with anything related to Down Syndrome or anything else, he said that is usually found in the 20 week range. So my next appointment is October 12th!!

Kylie is doing great! She's getting so big! She is 21 months. We are working on learning her colors, she can count to two. She loves playing with her kitchen and her baby dolls. She wants Michael and I to sit with her while she plays with them. She also loves playdough! We made homemade playdough a few weeks ago and she loves it! She has a huge vocabulary, she loves Landon and Hayden but can only say Hayden's name and it sounds more like Haydee. She looves cheese. Some mornings for breakfast she looks at what I make her, pancake or french toast and she will say I want cheese lol so cheese it is with her pancake. She also loves chocolate milk so she often says I want chocey. I can't believe how big she is and how much she is forming into such a little girl and not a baby anymore :(
